Zirconium oxide beads are mainly used as grinding media because of their high hardness and wear resistance requirements. Therefore, zirconium oxide beads have become the preferred grinding media, and many industries are now using zirconium oxide beads as long-term grinding materials.

The principle of using zirconium oxide beads in sand mills is based on the rotational speed and the inherent characteristics of the zirconium oxide beads. The rotational speed of vertical sand mills is lower than that of horizontal sand mills, so zirconium oxide beads with poor toughness, such as 65% zirconium oxide beads, can only be used in vertical sand mills. This is because the price is relatively cheaper, so it is necessary to select zirconium oxide beads that match the sand mill; otherwise, it will cause damage to the zirconium oxide beads.

According to the output particle size, the particle size of the zirconium oxide beads to be used can be determined. For example:

Lithium iron phosphate: Zirconium oxide bead particle size 0.3mm, 0.4-0.6mm, 0.8-1.0mm. The final grinding fineness of the material: D50: 0.3-0.5um

Silicon carbon anode: Zirconium oxide bead particle size 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.3mm. The final grinding fineness of the material: D50: 50-80nm

Separator alumina: Zirconium oxide bead particle size 0.3mm, 0.6-0.8mm. The final grinding fineness of the material: D50: 0.6-0.8um

According to the type of slurry

If crushing balls affect the quality of the slurry, that is, contaminate the material, it is necessary to choose zirconium oxide beads with good surface smoothness, especially those that meet the requirements in terms of impact resistance and low wear. Using our zirconium oxide beads can avoid contamination of the material, especially for grinding of food, medicine, coatings, and paints.
