A comparison and summary of the advantages and disadvantages of ceramic Pall rings

Ceramic Pall Ring is a perforated ring-type ceramic packing developed on the basis of Ceramic Raschig Ring, with equal height and diameter, and the aperture generally ranges from ø25 mm to ø80 mm.It features a unique structure: each layer of window openings has 5 tongues, all bent inward toward the center of the ring, and the upper and lower layers of windows are staggered in opposite positions.

This excellent structure effectively improves vapor-liquid distribution and fully utilizes the inner surface of the ring.It allows gas and liquid inside the packed tower to pass freely through the window openings.

 This packing enables smooth and free passage of gas and liquid within the tower, with the window openings serving as key flow channels.Therefore, it plays a critical role in achieving uniform distribution of gas and liquid, forming its core advantages in application and making it an environmentally friendly material.

Ceramic Pall rings resist thermal shock (rapid cooling and heating).They are corrosion-resistant to various inorganic acids, organic acids and organic solvents except hydrofluoric acid, and can be used in various high-temperature applications, giving them a wide range of applications.Their disadvantages are relatively high weight, brittleness, and susceptibility to damage during transportation and installation.

Ceramic Pall Ring packing is widely used as contact packing in CO₂ degassing towers, acid mist purification towers, ozone contact reaction towers, and other reaction towers.
